The School Liaison Support Specialist acts as a vital link between children, families, educational institutions, and various external resources, delivering a comprehensive array of services tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.

Evening and weekend availability may be necessary to accommodate the families we serve. Collaborative documentation with families is also a key component of this role.

Initially, the position will involve training in a community-based setting, transitioning to school-based responsibilities once the necessary clinical and professional competencies are established.

School-based Integrated Health Specialists will meet regularly with caregivers in their homes, with frequency determined by the specific needs of each client.

This is a full-time position with eligibility for benefits. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, with additional evening and weekend hours required for crisis intervention and support.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a representative and advocate for Compass Health Network, facilitating communication between the agency and educational institutions.
  • Provide expert consultation to school staff on a variety of mental health topics.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address the mental health needs of assigned children and their families.
  • Deliver personalized behavioral health services based on the strengths, needs, and preferences identified in partnership with clients and their families, focusing on recovery and resilience.
  • Assist families in creating Wellness Plans.
  • Utilize a holistic, person-centered approach, incorporating coaching on the Eight Dimensions of Wellness to support families in achieving their goals.
  • Help families navigate and access necessary services and resources.
  • Provide educational resources and skill-building opportunities to clients, families, and school personnel regarding daily living skills, education, symptom management, and communication.
  • Support families in developing natural support systems, engaging with family members, school staff, and legal guardians.
  • Assist in the completion of initial and annual assessments and Wellness Plans as directed.
  • Seek culturally competent services to meet the diverse needs of clients and families.
  • Driving is a fundamental aspect of this role.

A High School diploma or GED is required, with preference given to candidates holding an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a human services-related field. If a degree has not been obtained, relevant experience is required:

  • Four (4) years of experience or a combination of education and experience for those with a High School diploma/GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience or a combination of education and experience for those with an Associate's degree.
  • One (1) year of experience for those with a non-human services Bachelor's degree.

All candidates must have experience working with individuals facing psychiatric, substance use, or developmental challenges. A valid driver's license and minimum automobile coverage as established by the agency are also required.
