The Telephone Assistant serves a pivotal role within the Telecommunications Department, ensuring exemplary customer service for both physicians and patients at the University of Maryland Medical System. This position demands proficiency in the operation of the telephone switchboard, facilitating communication for in-patients and out-patients alike.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct assistance and support to medical staff and patients via telephone.
  • Manage incoming calls efficiently, demonstrating knowledge of telecommunications practices.
  • Work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by departmental needs.

Reporting Structure:

Qualifications:
