About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Invitation Homes. As a key member of our property maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our single-family rental homes, ensuring that our properties are well-maintained and our residents are satisfied.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a team of maintenance technicians to ensure that service requests are completed efficiently and effectively, while maintaining a high level of resident satisfaction.
  • Market Management: Actively monitor and manage market maintenance expenditures to ensure that our financial performance, resident satisfaction, and property maintenance needs are effectively balanced.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our office team members and property management staff to develop an effective and proactive team that works together to achieve our objectives.
  • Contractor Management: Assist in the identification, onboarding, and coordination of local contractors as needed.
  • Field Visits and Technical Expertise: Conduct field visits to resolve complicated resident service issues and act as a technical expert to guide maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Recruitment and Training: Recruit, hire, and train all maintenance technicians and maintenance supervisors for the regional team.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA Certification: OSHA 10 certification is required (new hires will have up to 90 days to complete OSHA 10 certification if not already certified).
  • Experience: Proven experience in all aspects of single-family construction, renovation, and/or maintenance with 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of residential construction and mechanical systems, and the ability to perform general residential maintenance work, including plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, carpentry, sheetrock, exterior structural, HVAC, and appliances.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team and communicate with residents and contractors.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and/or move materials weighing up to 20 pounds, and to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
