NASA Deep Space Network Navigation Engineer

Mission Driven Research Inc is seeking a skilled Navigation Engineer to support the development and flight programs of NASA/MSFC. The successful candidate will be responsible for navigation design and analysis, specifically with regard to the Deep Space Network (DSN) in support of the Human Landing System (HLS) program.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide engineering expertise and develop engineering products related to navigation usage of the Deep Space Network (DSN).
- Participate in a team environment to further the development of navigation capabilities utilizing DSN in support of development programs.
- Deliver DSN navigation analysis products in support of rocket/spacecraft/lander design and analysis process.
- Perform specific navigation design and analysis utilizing complex 6-DOF simulation programs and techniques.
- Analyze complex data, arrive at logical conclusions, and make recommendations.
- Develop and review technical memorandums, white papers, and briefings supporting findings and conclusions of analyses.
- Coordinate across disciplines and organizations for proper control system integration.
- Develop and present technical briefings and reports to Senior Leadership.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- All experience levels welcome, (5+ years experience preferred)
- BS in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math, (Aerospace Engineering preferred)
- Knowledge of the Deep Space Network, both hardware assets and data usage protocols is required.
- Knowledge and application of navigation system principles and development/analytical techniques.
- Works independently, applying engineering rigor to analyze and resolve problems within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience with Program Management
- Ability to self-manage and initiate within team structure
- Ability to decompose complex problems to actionable elements
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries
- Ability presenting complex information and concepts to Leaders at various levels
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of NASA/MSFC organizational structure
