About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Project Manager to join our Geotechnics Practice in the West Unit market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering geological field investigations, analyses, consulting reporting, and design evaluations for various business sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver geological field investigations, analyses, consulting reporting, and design evaluations for transport, water, energy, built environment, and advisory business sectors.
  • Build and maintain internal and external client relationships with other engineering disciplines and project managers, and clients in the business sectors.
  • Lead proposal efforts and compile proposals for ground investigation, geohazards evaluations, and mitigation design, and rock characterization services.
  • Manage subconsultants and subcontractors to provide ground investigation services including drillers, utility locators, surveyors, traffic control, and geotechnical laboratories.
  • Manage a team of geologists, engineering geologists, and geotechnical engineers to deliver geotechnical investigations, geoseismic evaluations, geotechnical numerical modeling, and hydrogeological services.
  • Interact with our global practice community to coordinate geotechnical delivery in the West Unit market.
  • Participate and engage with the geo community in the local area.
  • Develop and supervise a team of staff to augment Mott MacDonald's global capacity in engineering geological and geotechnical design and consulting delivery.
Requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills, record of client engagement to deliver geological design and consulting, and ability to communicate results to a diverse audience.
  • Professional geologist (PG) license in California or ability to obtain one within 6 months, Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) license in California or ability to obtain one.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering geology consulting (not including education).
  • Proficient use of geological skills and software (e.g. GIS, CRSP, Rocscience, RockWorks, LeapFrog, GeoStudio packages/Slide, stereonets, modflow).
  • Proven track record in designing engineering geological solutions.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
