Position Overview
As a Lead Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing registration and customer service functions, ensuring exceptional service delivery. You will assist with billing processes for nursing home accounts while maintaining a professional demeanor to enhance customer satisfaction.
Essential Qualifications
Education and Training
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of an accredited program in laboratory assistance, medical assistance, or phlebotomy is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology is essential.
Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in patient registration, billing, or customer service within a healthcare environment is preferred.
Licensure and Certification
No specific certifications, registrations, or licenses are required for this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital. The ability to organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently is essential. Proficiency in hospital registration and billing systems, clinical laboratory information systems, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel applications is required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Efficiently reconcile stat and courier charges on a daily basis.
2. Assist in the preparation of invoices and the dispatch of monthly bills to nursing facilities as necessary.
3. Update accounts for monthly billing lists to nursing facilities.
4. Gain familiarity with billing periods and the invoice processing cycle.
5. Contribute to achieving departmental goals and objectives while adhering to policies, procedures, and quality standards.
6. Follow up with business office administrators to retrieve updated census information for each facility weekly.
7. Maintain an organized workspace.
8. Monitor HDX to ensure insurance information is current on accounts.
9. Oversee nursing home billing profiles to ensure timely billing.
10. Perform customer service representative duties as needed.
11. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
12. Independently update account profiles on a weekly basis.
13. Understand the billing process and resolve any account-related issues.
