Role Overview
The Urban Mobility Analyst will be responsible for the development, coordination, and leadership of programs and initiatives focused on bicycle, pedestrian, and personal mobility within the city.

Work Schedule
This position operates on a 4/10 schedule, with hours from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday. Flexibility for evening or weekend meetings may be required.

Key Responsibilities
The Urban Mobility Analyst will engage in professional duties related to mobility planning and community outreach, including:

  • Conducting analysis of mobility alternatives and planning initiatives.
  • Engaging with stakeholders and the community to address mobility concerns.
  • Coordinating training sessions for city staff and stakeholders.
  • Preparing agendas and documenting meetings for the Mobility Stakeholder Group.
  • Organizing and executing bicycle-related activities.
  • Researching and drafting reports, memos, and correspondence related to mobility initiatives.
  • Reviewing development plans for their impact on mobility.
  • Managing the bike locker rental program and new mobility initiatives.
  • Overseeing budget and accounting for mobility programs.
  • Collaborating with regional transportation agencies on mobility issues.
  • Responding to inquiries from the public and assisting with grant applications.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in community engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Analytical skills and a keen interest in mobility research.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Capability to ride a bicycle on various pathways.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and League Cycling Instructor (LCI) certification are desirable.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in planning, engineering, transportation, public administration, communication, or a related field is required. Some experience in transportation planning is preferred, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge and skills.

Team Environment
The Public Works & Sustainability Department is dedicated to developing and maintaining the city's infrastructure in alignment with community standards. The Transportation Division manages all aspects of transportation, including traffic engineering and transit planning.

Selection Process
The selection process will include an examination and a background investigation prior to appointment. This recruitment may establish an eligibility list for future positions.
