Patient Services Coordinator

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care? We are seeking a Patient Navigator to join our team at Children's National Hospital.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and families. As a Patient Navigator, you will be responsible for fostering positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff to promote access to care and appropriate utilization of hospital and community services.
Key Responsibilities- Screen patients for identified needs and facilitate interventions to address these issues;
- Identify resources within the hospital and community to support patient and family coping and connect them with these services;
- Function as a resource and advocate for African American pregnant and postpartum women with young infants up to 12 months in the Washington, DC area.
We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated professional who possesses:
- A Bachelor's Degree (Required);
- At least 2 years of experience in social services or a medical setting offering direct assistance to clients, patients, and their families (Required);
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including African Americans;
- Sensitivity to individuals from varied backgrounds and cultures;
- Knowledge of resources available to meet the diverse needs of families in Washington, DC.
- Partner in the mission and uphold the core principles of the organization;
- Committed to diversity and recognize the value of cultural ethnic differences;
- Demonstrate personal and professional integrity;
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure is based on national averages and may vary depending on location and other factors.
