Job Title: Senior Data Specialist

Job Summary:

The Senior Data Specialist will provide on-site support for PowerSchool, the district's student data management system, with a focus on Danbury High School. This role involves managing and maintaining student information databases with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality, programming, importing/exporting data, and integrating district data systems for comprehensive data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for PowerSchool, including master scheduling, schedule overrides, and data queries.
  • Manage and maintain student information databases with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Program, import, and export data, and integrate district data systems for comprehensive data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the Data Systems team in utilizing the student information system.
  • Provide training and support to staff on data system usage and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting PowerSchool and other school data systems with demonstrated proficiency in scheduling.
  • The ability to write advanced data queries, create custom reports, manage custom pages, perform system upgrades, and manipulate data.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Excel, Access, Word, SQL, and other database query tools.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with and provide technical support to all levels of users.

Reports to: Director of Technology and Student Data Systems, Director of Data, Assessment and Research

Working Conditions: UPSEU Union Agreement, 12-month position/35 hours per week
