Job Overview

Organization Background: The Lewes-Rehoboth Area Congregations (LRAC) is a collaborative interfaith organization dedicated to serving the community with compassion and faith. As a nonprofit entity, LRAC is committed to raising and distributing resources to the Community Resource Center and various charitable organizations, aiming to enhance the lives of underprivileged individuals in Sussex County, Delaware, particularly within the Cape Henlopen School District region. Fundraising efforts are primarily conducted through the New Life Thrift Store.

Key Responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer: The CEO will report directly to the LRAC Board of Directors (BoD) and adhere to the guidelines established in the LRAC Bylaws and Board Manual. The BoD President, along with the Executive Committee, will oversee the CEO's performance evaluations. The CEO will manage the daily operations of LRAC, with specific responsibilities outlined below (percentages indicate estimated time allocation for each major task):

1. The CEO will serve as the primary coordinator for both internal and external operations. (35%) This includes:

1.1. Internally, the CEO will collaborate with the BoD, Executive Committee, and committee chairs, including the New Life Thrift Store (NLTS) Manager.

1.1.1. The CEO will act as the central communication hub, ensuring information flows effectively among all parties.

1.1.2. Special attention will be given to coordinating with the NLTS Committee Chair and NLTS Manager, despite the CEO's lack of direct oversight over NLTS operations.

1.2. Externally, the CEO will lead outreach initiatives, working closely with the Membership Committee Chair. Potential interactions may include:

1.2.1. Engaging with community members, particularly those involved with LRAC-funded ministries (in collaboration with the Grant Review Committee Chair).

1.2.2. Disseminating information about significant LRAC events to local media (in coordination with the Membership/Recruitment Committee Chair).

1.2.3. Communicating with member congregations about the impact of LRAC funding on the local community (in collaboration with the Membership/Recruitment Committee Chair).

1.2.4. Establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships.

2. The CEO will oversee operational management and provide administrative support for LRAC. (35%) This includes:

2.1. Organizing meetings and events for the LRAC BoD and Executive Committee.

2.2. Monitoring financial management, reviewing monthly financial statements with the Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

2.3. Maintaining an online archive of essential LRAC documents, including Bylaws, BoD Manual, Meeting Minutes, Financial Reports, Grant Requests, and other significant correspondence.

2.4. Overseeing and updating the LRAC website.

2.5. Promoting the adoption of the latest technology within LRAC operations.

2.6. Tracking volunteer efforts unrelated to NLTS and encouraging volunteer recruitment across the organization.

2.7. Participating in the hiring and supervision of any non-NLTS paid staff.

3. The CEO will research, organize, and promote additional fundraising initiatives for LRAC. (30%) This includes:

3.1. Identifying, preparing, and tracking grant applications (in collaboration with the Membership/Recruitment Committee Chair).

3.2. Exploring opportunities for alternative fundraising initiatives (in collaboration with the Membership/Recruitment Committee Chair).

4. In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, the position may encompass other duties as assigned, addressing emergent needs and general office tasks not specifically detailed.

5. The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with some meetings potentially occurring outside standard working hours to accommodate congregations and public members. Regular in-person office attendance is required, and applicants must be comfortable with commuting.

6. LRAC will provide a laptop for work purposes. While LRAC does not provide a vehicle, mileage reimbursement will be offered for work-related travel, excluding regular commuting.

7. A Bachelor's Degree is required for this position. Compensation will be negotiated based on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
