At Ernest, we are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions and administration of HR programs, employment policies, and compliance with Federal and State labor laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Administration: Supervise payroll administration, procedures, and accuracy; conduct monthly payroll reconciliation and accruals for finance; provide payroll data to finance and management as needed; act as backup when payroll personnel is off duty, etc. Manage annual benefits enrollment process.
  • Benefits Administration: Manage benefits administrator, oversee management of Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, Life, and 401K to ensure compliance with all legal regulations. Set procedures to ensure accuracy; conduct billing monthly reconciliation; supervise and monitor leaves of absences, etc.
  • Compensation & Performance Management: Manage annual performance and salary review process; maintain current market salary survey; and oversee the evaluation, employment classification, and rating of occupations and job positions, etc.
  • Workplace Safety: Manage and provide professional knowledge and expertise coordination and implementation programs and claims to ensure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines and institutional policies; interfaces with regulatory agencies, vendors, and departmental management and staff to formulate corrective actions. Ensures personnel training and corrective action follow-up is completed; assesses risk potential; develops and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.

Employee Relations:

  • Support Managers: Provide advice and guidance on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity, harassment, employee relations, employee discipline, and recommend solutions for needed changes.
  • Serve as Liaison: Serve as a liaison and conflict resolution champion between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts, and helping resolve work-related problems escalated by HR staff; including but not limited to dealing with refereeing disputes, terminating employees, administering disciplinary procedures, and guiding through conflict resolution.
  • Employee Wellness: Manage and oversee employee wellness program.

Legal Compliance:

  • Set and Maintain Policies: Set and maintain policies and procedures current with Federal and State law and requirements in relation to payroll, benefits, safety, employee relations, recruiting, compensations, etc. Maintain.
  • Represent Organization: Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
  • Investigate and Report: Investigate and report on industrial accidents for insurance carriers.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and HR best practices, and industry trends.

Training & Development:

  • Assess Training Needs: Assess staff's HR training needs; design employee and management HR-related training, including policy, procedures, health, and safety programs, as needed.
  • Manage Training: Manage all training required to fulfill regulated HR training requirements, such as Harassment, Safety, Open Enrollment, etc.

Policies & Procedures:

  • Maintain Employee Handbooks: Maintain employee handbooks up to date with City, State, Federal agency laws and/or guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in human resources or business management.
  • Experience: At least five years of professional experience across all HR disciplines.
  • Location: Must have experience managing multiple locations in multiple states.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Certification: PHR certification preferred.
