Position:
Material Handler I
Reports to: Production Superintendent
Schedule: Rotating
Pay: $23/hour+

Summary: The Material Handler will operate in various sections of the facility, utilizing a front-end loader to transport raw materials or clinker to designated areas.


Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all safety protocols within the plant.
- Ensure proper separation and containment of clinker and other materials.
- Conduct equipment checks in the work area.
- Maintain full supplies of materials, including coal and clinker.
- Clear blockages in feeders and hoppers.
- Maintain cleanliness in the clinker bin and fuel unloading zones.
- Address issues as they arise and assist with kiln maintenance during downtimes.
- Unload various materials arriving by rail or truck, including coal, iron ore, sand, and liquid fuels.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend safety labels and instructions.
- Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy mobile equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Maintain a positive attitude and good attendance.
- Capable of performing minor maintenance tasks.
- Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and communicate effectively.

Work Environment: The role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to cement dust, temperature variations, and noise. Compliance with safety guidelines is essential. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and working at heights of up to 250 feet.
