Job Overview

Position Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Position Summary:
The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) is in search of qualified candidates for a full-time, contracted Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) role within the Tri County area. The primary objective of the SLP is to deliver therapeutic services to students experiencing challenges related to speech, language, voice, fluency, or auditory processing, ultimately enhancing their expressive and receptive communication abilities and facilitating the development of essential speech and language competencies.

This role is designed as a temporary contract to provide coverage for a maternity leave, supporting various educational facilities within the district. Candidates must be prepared to travel as part of their responsibilities.

Compensation:

$44.66 per hour

Work Schedule:

Elementary School: Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, aligning with the majority of student service requirements.

High School: The operational hours are from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

The contract duration is expected to cover a specified period with potential for additional days as needed.

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certificate for School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12
- Pennsylvania State Licensure in Speech/Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC's) - Preferred

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and instruct designated classes at assigned locations and times.
- Develop a tailored educational program that addresses the unique needs, interests, and capabilities of students.
- Establish a learning environment that is supportive and appropriate for the developmental levels and interests of students.
- Prepare for assigned classes and provide documented evidence of preparation upon request from supervisors.
- Regularly evaluate student progress and provide necessary reports as required.
