Job Title: Receptionist/Office Operations Personnel

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Receptionist/Office Operations Personnel to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This part-time position will provide front desk, administrative, and general office support to our global research center.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk and reception area, providing administrative support, tracking supply inventory, coordinating with external vendors, and maintaining conference rooms and common areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the front desk and reception area, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for visitors and staff.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and preparing documents.
  • Track and maintain supply inventory, ensuring that the office is well-stocked and equipped.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to arrange for reoccurring weekly and monthly catering needs.
  • Maintain conference rooms and common areas, ensuring they are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience in a professional work environment, with relevant administrative support experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with computer applications and ability to learn new software quickly.
Working Arrangements:

This part-time position will require working on-site two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday, 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.) and two hours virtually as needed on other days of the week.
