Job Summary

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the Faculty Appointments Committee in their mission to recruit and appoint faculty members. This is a temporary, part-time position that requires a regular presence on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduling interviews, coordinating with the Faculty Appointments Committee, candidates, and faculty members.
  • Provide administrative support, including calendar management, travel arrangements, and expense processing.
  • Maintain files, both electronic and paper, and provide general administrative support as needed.
  • Request support from other departments as needed, such as IT for technology assistance and Buildings and Grounds for maintenance needs.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree plus two or more years of relevant experience.
  • Strong calendar management skills and experience with event or travel planning.
  • Understanding of and appreciation for inclusion, including the ability to work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds, identities, and viewpoints.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and maintain recordkeeping systems, as well as organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.
  • Basic knowledge of budgets and cost estimating and processing, as well as the ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing technological work environments.
  • Solid computer skills, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment, and experience with Microsoft Office (365) applications and virtual work environments.
