Position Overview

Core Responsibilities:

The primary focus of this role is to assemble a range of products while adhering to quality and productivity standards within a manufacturing setting. This individual will collaborate closely with team members, the area Lead, and the supervisor to meet performance objectives in key areas such as Efficiency, Defects Per Unit (DPU), Reporting Accuracy, Scrap Management, Inventory Control, and Time Management. Specific goals are established for each quarter, and overall team performance is evaluated against these metrics.

Key Duties:

  • Assemble various products following established work instructions and schematics.
  • Set up and operate production equipment and fixtures as necessary.
  • Achieve proficiency in multiple assembly tasks while maintaining standards for quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Conduct preparatory tasks such as line clearance and changeover.
  • Inspect both personal and team members' work, performing basic repairs as needed.
  • Cross-train or mentor colleagues in areas of expertise when required.
  • Accurately complete manufacturing documentation, initiate material requests, report quality concerns, and record measurements as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate identification and counting of point-of-use materials, reporting any shortages promptly.
  • Adhere to all corporate, regulatory, safety, and production policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong attendance record.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; must be an Intuitive Surgical employee in good standing for at least nine months or possess a minimum of three years of relevant experience in complex mechanical assembly.
  • Language Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and comprehend English. Must be able to understand instructions, short correspondence, and memos, as well as write simple correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills: Competence in basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to calculate averages, percentages, and ranges.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions and manage standardized situations with minimal variables.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant systems (Agile/SAP) for checking drawings, BOM structures, and documentation.
  • Other Skills: Flexibility to work varying shifts, complete training courses, and work effectively in a team environment.
