Position Summary: This role is responsible for executing commercial lending functions in alignment with Southside Bank's policies. The individual will be tasked with fostering new commercial client relationships while also nurturing the existing customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently identify and cultivate profitable client relationships through networking and referrals.
  • Enhance the Bank's profitability by establishing and strengthening business relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide comprehensive banking solutions to clients and communities.
  • Develop and deepen deposit relationships while effectively cross-selling treasury services.
  • Negotiate appropriate loan structures and promote the Bank's credit and non-credit offerings.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of existing loan agreements to ensure alignment with risk tolerance.
  • Analyze client deposit and payment activities.
  • Engage in special projects that support team and community initiatives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of banking products, credit analysis, and financial principles.
  • Represent the bank professionally at public and community events.
  • Stay informed on banking regulations and trends through ongoing education.
  • Participate in team meetings and relevant committees as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee support staff in their tasks and professional development.
  • Engage with the community to identify and originate personal mortgages, if qualified.
  • Conduct interviews with mortgage loan applicants to gather necessary information.
  • Adhere to safety policies and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Contribute to team efforts aimed at achieving departmental and organizational goals.
  • Provide mentorship and share knowledge with colleagues.
  • Attend external meetings as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in lending or credit analysis, focusing on commercial relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial banking products and services.
  • Proficient in credit and underwriting processes.
  • Sales experience with familiarity in loan processing and closing.
  • Postgraduate banking certification or training is a plus.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong ability to build and enhance customer relationships to expand loan offerings and identify suitable bank products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business documents and regulations.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations and basic algebra.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex instructions.
  • Proficient in personal computer applications including email, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to handle office equipment and materials.

Work Schedule:
