Job Overview:The Emergency Department Access Associate serves as a crucial link between patient clerical staff and the management team within Emergency Services. This role involves welcoming and guiding staff, families, and visitors as they enter the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various clerical duties related to patient access.
- Order necessary office supplies to maintain operational efficiency.
- Assist in scheduling tasks as required.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in basic administrative functions including phone etiquette, typing, filing, and using fax machines.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a workstation, engage in repetitive motions, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. There may also be exposure to various risks associated with patient handling and emergency environments.
Work Schedule:
Flexibility to work three 12.5-hour shifts weekly, which may include days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
