Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Elite School Staffing. As a Head Start Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality educational environment for program children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a Safe and Healthy Learning Environment
    • Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes children's physical, social, and emotional well-being.
  • Develop and Implement Lesson Plans
    • Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs that include all aspects of the High/Scope daily routine.
  • Document and Communicate Children's Progress
    • Maintain program documentation on children and families, including progress reports and communication with parents.
  • Support Parent Involvement
    • Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences, and home visits.
  • Administer and Score Developmental Assessments
    • Administer, score, and communicate the developmental assessment results within 45 days of each child entering the program.
  • Observe and Document Children's Activities
    • Observe and document children's activities and interactions through anecdotal notes.
  • Work Effectively as Part of a Team
    • Work and communicate effectively as part of a team environment to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families.
  • Prepare and Serve Meals
    • Prepare, serve, clean up, and document meals as necessary.
  • Document Contributions to the Classroom
    • Document any contributions to the classroom, including food, money, and other donations.
  • Attend Meetings and Program Functions
    • Attend meetings and program functions as assigned.
  • Follow Policies and Guidelines
    • Follow all Board of Education and Policy Council policies, local, state, and federal guidelines, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood preferred (or commitment to obtain CDA credential within one year of hire).
    • Experience working with young children.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to apply current research and theoretical knowledge in a specific field.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
    • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
    • Knowledge, skill, and ability in using MS Office Suite and e-mail.
  • Special Requirements
    • As mandated by the Office of Head Start, all staff must be fully vaccinated.
