Job Title: Early Head Start Teacher

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Early Head Start Teacher to join our team at Elite School Staffing. As an Early Head Start Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing learning environment for children and their parents. You will plan and implement activities that promote developmentally appropriate learning and ensure children are ready for school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment
  • Implement active supervision and health and safety practices
  • Work with families to develop individual goals for children
  • Provide for the physical needs of infants and toddlers
  • Supervise and facilitate learning for infants and toddlers
  • Ensure all Early Head Start component areas are included in daily lessons and classroom environment
  • Treat children and families with dignity and respect
  • Encourage and support family involvement in the Early Head Start program
  • Help children develop social awareness appropriate for their age and developmental level
  • Complete daily sanitation log and classroom health and safety checklist
  • Conduct parent conferences and home visits to share information with families
  • Ensure all developmental screenings are completed within 45 days of enrollment
  • Use observation, ongoing assessment, and tracking to ensure positive child outcomes
  • Maintain adequate safeguards for the privacy and confidentiality of information
  • Complete required documentation and submit records and reports in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements:

  • Associates or higher in early childhood education or child development preferred
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential
  • One year of experience working with infants and toddlers preferred
  • Able to assist and supervise infants and toddlers and ensure a safe learning environment
  • Knowledge of Birth-to-Three Early Childhood Education and Development
  • Strong working knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards and Michigan Childcare Licensing Regulations
