Mott MacDonald is the preferred consultant for a variety of power clients, providing world-class engineering services in the field of renewable energy, including owner's engineering, detailed design, and construction management.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Substation Physical Team and Account Leader to enhance our offerings to both existing and prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced professionals to:

  • Complete physical engineering designs and generate professional plans, specifications, technical calculations, exhibits, and reports.
  • Understand and apply Substation Physical Engineering design principles for utility and renewable substations.
  • Ensure compliance with current codes and standards.
  • Perform technical calculations under supervision.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to create general arrangements and one-line diagrams with guidance.
  • Collaborate with various disciplines and the project engineering team to meet structural and civil design requirements.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures during the preparation of drawings.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets effectively, providing guidance on project schedules and task hours.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You should possess a strong work ethic and take pride in your responsibilities and achievements.

Experience in consulting environments is essential, along with the ability to keep all stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle. You should be adept at multitasking and thrive in fast-paced, dynamic project settings.

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with:

  • 3-8 years of experience as a Mid-level Substation Physical Engineer.
  • Proficiency in using CDEGS and/or WinIGS for grounding studies per IEEE 80.
  • Experience with CYMCAP.
  • Knowledge of designing lightning protection systems per IEEE standards.
  • Ability to perform rigid bus calculations per IEEE.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.

Compensation and Benefits:
Salary Range: $95,000 - $125,000
