About the Role

As a key member of the Starburst leadership team, the VP of Information Security will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive security strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking security strategy that ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Starburst's data and systems.
  • Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the security of Starburst's data and systems.
  • Lead security and compliance-related projects to ensure Starburst's compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize security risks to mitigate potential threats to the organization.
  • Plan and direct the implementation of new technology systems to ensure the security and integrity of Starburst's data and systems.
  • Lead customer due diligence to ensure the security posture of Starburst is maintained in the marketplace.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the security and integrity of Starburst's data and systems.

Requirements:

  • Technical degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience building, managing, and leading diverse security teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Track record of designing and implementing effective security strategies and programs.
  • Past success in analyzing data, identifying trends, and adjusting strategy accordingly.
  • No ego. Strong focus on doing what is right for the customer and the company.
  • The ability to interface with diverse teams from leaders in business units to individual engineers.

  • Competitive salary range: $225,000 - $275,000 per year.
