GearTec, Inc. is on the lookout for a skilled Gear Product Engineer to collaborate with our production and repair divisions, bringing hands-on expertise in the industrial gear and gearbox manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will partner with the Engineering Manager and the manufacturing team to facilitate the following:

  • Assess and identify the repair requirements for incoming gearboxes and rework of used gears.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control inspectors to reverse engineer components that need repair or replacement.
  • Oversee the disassembly and cleaning operations of gearboxes to ensure prompt evaluation of the work scope.
  • Generate reports and cost estimates to support the customer service team in the quotation process.
  • Review or develop manufacturing workflows for component parts, including creating necessary inspection plans.
  • Assist manufacturing operations with the disassembly and assembly of gearboxes, ensuring all client specifications are met.
  • Occasionally visit client locations to assess equipment or deliver technical presentations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines with precision and organization.
  • Proficient in 3-D modeling software, preferably AutoCAD Inventor.
  • Knowledge and experience in gear machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Preferred experience in the mechanical drive and power transmission industry, with an understanding of bearings, shafting, oil seals, and supporting housings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; design experience with Inventor/AutoCAD is advantageous.
