Role Overview

This position is integral to ensuring patients receive exceptional service regarding their billing inquiries. The responsibilities encompass:

  • Thoroughly reviewing patient billing statements
  • Collecting payments for upcoming medical procedures
  • Managing outstanding balances and previous dues
  • Exploring alternative benefit coverage options for medical and pharmaceutical services
  • Securing necessary authorizations
  • Establishing payment arrangements
  • Providing coverage support at various locations as needed

This role is essential in delivering a superior patient experience through prompt and precise assistance.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 1 year in customer service, healthcare, or office settings
  • Preferred: Previous experience in Healthcare Billing, Collections, or Customer Service

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in computer skills for data entry and patient information retrieval
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Composure in high-pressure situations regarding financial discussions
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions
  • Reliable transportation for potential travel to different facilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide courteous and accurate assistance to patients regarding their accounts through various communication channels
  • Act as a liaison between patients, providers, and external departments to ensure proper charge application and resolution of discrepancies
  • Ensure timely authorizations and accurate estimates for upcoming procedures
  • Educate patients on their financial responsibilities and available assistance options
  • Deliver exemplary service to maintain high patient satisfaction levels
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and competency
  • Stay informed on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance

Physical and Environmental Demands:

This role may involve sedentary work, with occasional lifting of light objects. The incumbent may encounter patients with communicable diseases and must adhere to safety protocols.
