Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of personnel across all departments at Maslonka Powerline Services. This position requires a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures, as well as excellent communication and training skills.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate work-related incidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
  • Develop mitigation measures and corrective actions to reduce the risk of hazards.
  • Conduct or facilitate training and education programs for supervisory and field employees.
  • Administer recordkeeping and documentation for compliance with safety training policies.
  • Recommend safe work processes and demonstrate personal protective equipment safety features.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are fit-for-purpose and functional.
Qualifications
  • 3-4 years of Electric Utility Safety Coordinator experience.
  • Associates degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Knowledge of substation safe work practices and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to consider the relative costs, risks, and benefits of potential actions.
  • Ability to actively listen and use logic and reasoning to identify solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BCSP certifications.
  • OSHA 500/510 certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment, requiring extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting. The employee must be able to work in inclement weather conditions and have the ability to judge distance and space relationships.
