Job Summary:

The Azure Cloud Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing the company's Azure cloud environment, ensuring it meets the technical requirements and customer expectations. This role involves close collaboration with customers to understand their needs, providing technical support, and implementing cloud solutions that enhance customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Azure Cloud Management:
    • Manage and maintain Azure cloud services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, databases, and networking resources.
    • Monitor the performance and availability of Azure resources, ensuring that they meet the required service levels.
    • Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions within the Azure environment.
  • Customer Collaboration and Support:
    • Work closely with customers to understand their cloud requirements, ensuring that solutions are aligned with their business objectives.
    • Provide ongoing support to customers, addressing any issues or concerns related to their Azure environment.
    • Assist customers with the onboarding process, including setting up accounts, configuring resources, and providing training.
  • Solution Design and Implementation:
    • Design and implement Azure-based solutions that meet customer needs, including custom configurations and integrations.
    • Ensure that cloud solutions are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance and cost.
    • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to develop and deploy cloud architectures that support current and future business needs.
  • Security and Compliance:
    • Implement and manage security best practices in the Azure environment, including identity and access management, encryption, and threat protection.
    • Ensure that the Azure environment complies with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing any identified risks.
  • Automation and Optimization:
    • Automate routine tasks using Azure tools such as Azure Automation, PowerShell, and ARM templates to increase efficiency and reduce errors.
    • Optimize Azure resources for cost and performance, using tools like Azure Cost Management and Azure Monitor.
    • Implement auto-scaling and load-balancing solutions to handle varying workloads efficiently.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
    • Set up and manage monitoring tools to track the health and performance of the Azure environment.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure services, working closely with customers to minimize downtime and disruption.
    • Analyze system logs and other diagnostic data to identify and address potential problems before they impact customers.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the Azure environment, including architecture diagrams, configuration settings, and operational procedures.
    • Prepare and deliver regular reports to customers and internal stakeholders on cloud usage, performance, and costs.
    • Document customer interactions, support tickets, and resolutions to build a knowledge base for future reference.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Provide training and support to customers on best practices for using Azure services.
    • Develop and deliver training materials, workshops, and documentation to help customers and internal teams maximize the value of Azure.
    • Stay updated on the latest Azure features and updates, sharing knowledge with customers and team members.
  • Incident and Change Management:
    • Participate in incident response and problem management activities, ensuring that customer issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
    • Manage changes to the Azure environment, ensuring that customers are informed and that changes are implemented with minimal disruption.
    • Work within ITIL frameworks or similar methodologies to manage incidents, changes, and problem resolution.
  • Customer Feedback and Improvement:
    • Gather feedback from customers on their experience with the Azure environment and use it to drive continuous improvement.
    • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction, whether through new services, better support, or improved communication.
    • Engage with customers regularly to ensure that their cloud needs are being met and to anticipate future requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant Azure certifications, such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305), or similar, are strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience managing Azure environments, with a focus on customer-facing roles. Experience in cloud architecture, automation, and optimization is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Deep understanding of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.
    • Experience with monitoring and management tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Certifications: Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).

  • Occasional travel may be required for customer meetings or site visits.
  • The role may involve on-call responsibilities to support customers outside of regular business hours.
