DESCRIPTION

An Income Maintenance Supervisor II operates under limited oversight, providing guidance, training, and leadership to the income maintenance caseworkers within the Economic Services Unit. This role encompasses budget planning and oversight of unit finances.
DUTIES

• Supervises departmental staff, which includes instructing, assigning tasks, reviewing work, maintaining performance standards, developing employee work plans, selecting new hires, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Ensures accurate preparation of records, reports, and documentation.
• Monitors cases to ensure compliance with time and participation standards as well as eligibility requirements.
• Guarantees fair treatment of all clients in accordance with departmental policies.
• Conducts secondary reviews for cases processed in Adult Medicaid.
• Responsible for measuring workloads and analyzing workflow standards. Performs additional duties as assigned and trained.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and three years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Investigator, preferably with one year of supervisory experience. An Associate's Degree in Human Services Technology, Social Services, Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field, with four years of experience in Income Maintenance as a Caseworker or Investigator, and one year of supervisory experience is preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Computer Skills: Prior experience with Microsoft Windows suite of products.
License/Credentials: Valid NC driver's license required.
Special Information: All DSS positions are subject to reallocation based on funding, agency needs, and client population, and may require work during emergencies or disasters, including overnight shelter staffing.

Longevity Pay
