We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Management Accountant to oversee and manage the financial operations related to a regional residential property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting.
- Perform account reconciliations for property-related accounts, including bank, general ledger, and subsidiary accounts, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of property budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial performance against budget and providing insights on variances.
- Manage lease accounting processes, including rent rolls, lease abstracts, and tenant billing, ensuring compliance with lease agreements and accounting standards.
- Collaborate with property managers and other departments to address financial issues, streamline processes, and provide financial analysis.
- Prepare documentation for external CPAs assisting in annual tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in property accounting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate accounting or property management accounting.
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles, lease accounting, and property financial management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
