Position Summary:
The HR Generalist role will concentrate on total rewards (benefits and compensation, leaves of absence), compliance, and administration of HRIS systems. As part of the HR team, this position will also assist with HR Generalist responsibilities such as employee relations, policy development, communication of employee program information, and coordination of special events.

ResponsibilitiesHR Generalist Job Responsibilities:
Total Rewards:
- Coordinates benefit plan designs with the VP of HR and brokers, leading the annual enrollment process.
- Administers all benefits and retirement programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, ancillary, and 401k) and processes annual enrollment or change requests for current employees.
- Acts as a liaison with external benefits administrators, trustees, or insurance companies, intervening when employees face issues with vendors.
- Reviews compensation structures and recommends adjustments for internal equity and market competitiveness using both internal and external data. Informs the annual merit process and other proposed compensation modifications.
- Manages employee leave-of-absence requests, collaborating with our third-party administrator and providing expertise and support to HR teams in other locations.
- Assists employees with inquiries related to benefits and leaves.
Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS):
- Serves as the subject matter expert and primary contact for HRIS technical support (currently UKG and iCIMS).
- Oversees and maintains optimal functionality of the Company's HRIS, including database management, maintenance, upgrades, permissions, personalization, and data security.
- Collaborates across departments to identify necessary system improvements and recommends solutions for implementation, staying informed about trends in HR technology platforms.
- Creates and ensures the accuracy of dashboards and reports, compiling monthly standard data reporting.
- Responds to information requests, automating solutions where feasible.
- Trains new HR staff in the use of the system.
- Works closely with Finance/Payroll to ensure timely and accurate information.
Compliance:
- Responsible for drafting policy documents in collaboration with the VP of HR and legal counsel, including the annual update of the employee handbook.
- Handles compliance reporting (EEO1, Vets 4212, OSHA, etc.).
- Ensures consistency and accuracy of employee notifications and postings.
Other Areas of Responsibility:
- Assists with employee relations, investigations, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
- Supports various HR responsibilities (LMS, recruitment, Affirmative Action, etc.) and is cross-trained to act as a backup.
- Maintains current and accurate information on the Human Resources Intranet page.
- Participates in committees such as the Employee Committee, Wellness Committee, Safety Committee, or the United Way Campaign as necessary.
A bachelor's degree in human resources or business or equivalent is required, along with 3-5 years of experience, including benefits, compensation, and HRIS experience. Note: equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year of education. HR certification is preferred.
Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
