Position Overview

The Nurse Practitioner will engage in a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to deliver direct patient care and oversee infusion and injection procedures in accordance with established clinical standards within an outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform initial clinical evaluations for new patients, reviewing their medical history prior to the first infusion.
  • Supervise and administer intravenous infusions and injections for patients with chronic conditions.
  • Assist in the preparation of biologic medications.
  • Educate patients on the potential risks, side effects, and benefits associated with their treatment.
  • Coordinate care plans with ordering providers and our infusion center.
  • Communicate with referring providers to ensure all necessary documentation is obtained for medication approval.
  • Review incoming orders, verify medical records, and assess diagnostic tests to support treatment decisions.
  • Evaluate relevant laboratory results, reports, and previous medication trials.
  • Ensure accuracy in nursing documentation and finalize patient charts at the end of each shift.
  • Keep the Medical Director and VP of Clinical Affairs informed of all clinical developments and concerns.
  • Support the management of nursing staff and address any operational issues that arise in the clinic.
  • Maintain accountability for all medications and medical-surgical supplies within the infusion center.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in specialty infusion therapy, including patient assessment and emergency care skills.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in good standing.
  • CRNI certification preferred; IGCN certification desirable.
  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or a post-master's certificate in pediatrics.
  • Current certifications in basic life support/AED and ACLS.

Additional Skills
  • Proficient in computer skills and electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Comfortable with initiating intravenous access.
  • Able to recognize and appropriately manage infusion reactions.
