Whether you are completing your education or considering a career transition, Fidelity's Securities Industry Essentials® (SIE®) Scholar initiative offers you the chance to gain insights into the financial sector and the ethos at Fidelity, while also preparing you to take the SIE® Exam, which is the initial step towards obtaining your Series 7 license and aiding clients in achieving their financial aspirations.

The SIE® is a foundational-level examination that encompasses essential investment principles relevant to the industry, including various types of basic financial instruments, risk factors, and regulatory standards.

Our SIE® Scholar initiative provides you with the opportunity to delve into the financial services sector and kickstart your career, all while being supported by a network of Fidelity professionals and resources. If you are selected for Fidelity's SIE® Scholar initiative, please note that you will not be employed by Fidelity and will not undertake any work for the company.

What to Anticipate:

As a Fidelity SIE® Scholar, you will have the opportunity to prepare for and take the SIE® exam as we invest in your development:

  • Fidelity will cover the costs for study materials and the exam fee for you to take the Securities Industry Essentials® Exam.
  • You will engage in various key milestones throughout the program and gain access to a personalized portal for study tools and Fidelity resources.
  • Throughout the initiative, you will learn more about career paths at Fidelity, hear directly from employees and leaders, and experience the internal culture.
  • Upon successful completion of the program, our experienced recruiters will assist you in applying for our full-time Customer Relationship Advocate position, where you can complete the Series 7 and other licenses, thereby commencing your career journey with Fidelity.

Our SIE® Scholar initiative allows you to investigate a career in the financial services sector and initiate your professional journey. If selected for Fidelity's SIE® Scholar initiative, you will not be employed by Fidelity and will not perform any work for the company. The program will furnish you with resources to study for and take the SIE® while also allowing you to gain insights into what a future career with Fidelity could entail if you choose to pursue one.

This investigation may include, but is not limited to, a review of criminal history, civil litigations, regulatory compliance, employment history, education verification, and credit assessment (role dependent). These investigations will cover a history of 7 years or more, depending on the position.
