Position Overview:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in wound care and ostomy management serves as a clinical expert in treating patients with conditions affecting the integumentary, gastrointestinal, and urinary systems.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Develop evidence-based programs and protocols to enhance healthcare delivery.
  • Provide specialized wound and ostomy care services in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Consult with patients and healthcare professionals to optimize care for complex clinical cases.
  • Initiate necessary diagnostic tests and procedures, including wound debridement.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses based on comprehensive assessments.
  • Utilize advanced clinical skills to make informed decisions regarding patient care.
  • Create comprehensive care plans that incorporate assessment data and evidence-based practices.
  • Exercise prescriptive authority in accordance with legal standards.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacological agents and treatments based on clinical evaluations.
  • Analyze patient data to assess the effectiveness of care plans and interventions.
  • Define expected outcomes that align with best practices and interprofessional input.
  • Lead initiatives to foster communication and collaboration among care teams.
  • Engage in evaluations with patients to assess the effectiveness of treatments and care strategies.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Master's degree in Nursing.

Licensure and Certification:
  • Valid APRN License.
  • Completion of an accredited wound management certification program is required.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience.
  • Experience in wound care is essential.
