Job Summary

The University of Miami seeks a highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our team in the Inpatient Urology department. As a key member of our healthcare team, the APRN will deliver high-quality medical care to a diverse range of patients, working independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver medical care to patients, examining and treating them independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as necessary.
  • Advise patients on continuing care and provide education on health and wellness.
  • Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient needs.
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
  • Implement interventions to support patients in regaining or maintaining physiologic stability.
  • Assist with the provision of care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and facilitate patient transitions within and between healthcare settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
  • Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision-making by providing educational tools.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing (Acute Care preferred)
  • Valid State of Florida APRN License
  • Acute Care Certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Urology experience preferred
