Job Title: Site Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Director to join our team at Kanawha County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operation of our program, which serves grades kindergarten through fifth, and will oversee a team of staff members.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, and coordinate daily activities, including creating a written work plan for staff and parents to access.
  • Supervise, safety, and care of children at the site, including administering medication according to WV Code.
  • Effectively communicate and maintain working relationships with children, parents, co-workers, and school personnel.
  • Prepare correspondence, monthly reports, receipts, time sheets, payroll sign in/out sheets, DHHR billing, supply orders, and other documentation as needed.
  • Organize and lead program activities, maintain a clean and structured environment, and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Address unforeseen crises associated with working with large/small groups of children and provide additional services to special needs children as needed.
  • Uphold and enforce KCSCEP policies and procedures, and perform any other tasks assigned by the Program Coordinator or KCSCEP Director.
Requirements:
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • At least 18 months of supervised relevant work experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid.
  • Complete WV DHHR Child Abuse & Neglect training.
  • Complete the WV DHHR Preservice Training modules on WV STARS.
  • Complete an ergonomic assessment at the Regulatory Training Center.
  • Adhere to all KCSCEP hiring practices, including criminal background check, CPS background check, drug test, TB assessment, medical physical, and required online staff development.
  • Ability to read, write, and carry out duties, understand and follow written and oral directions, and have mastery of basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and child care software (Procare).
  • Sign a county AUP (Acceptable Use Policy).
  • Punctual, dependable, and regular in attendance, neat, clean, and professional appearance, and interest in and enjoyment working with children.
  • Participate in all mandatory staff training and meetings, recognize and react to hazards to safety, maintain confidentiality, and meet KCSCEP expectations for employees.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear, see, and use repetitive motions.
  • Frequently lift and/or move at least 50 pounds (100 pounds vertically for children with special needs) of materials, children, etc.
Work Environment:
  • Work environment is moderate to loud dB.
