TRAVELING CONSTRUCTION SITE SUPERINTENDENT

*This position requires travel to various job sites for extended durations

*Candidate must be prepared for travel

Overview: The ideal candidate must possess the ability and willingness to travel to multiple project locations for prolonged periods. Responsibilities include interpreting design plans and blueprints, supervising and managing subcontractors, and performing hands-on tasks such as painting, carpentry, minor plumbing, minor electrical work, drywall installation, and other repair tasks necessary for the successful completion of construction projects. This role necessitates traveling to different sites for significant timeframes.

We are in search of a highly experienced, hands-on traveling construction superintendent to fulfill this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct minor plumbing tasks (e.g., replacing sinks, faucets, toilets, and fixtures as necessary).
  • Oversee subcontractors and manage project worksites effectively.
  • Execute routine painting and carpentry tasks.
  • Perform minor electrical work (e.g., repairing or replacing fixtures, wall switches, and outlets; changing light bulbs, ballasts, and sockets as needed).
  • Utilize technology (tablet, smartphone) to: Access and complete work orders, including notes on services rendered.
  • Generate and submit Service Reports and Quality Inspection images and documentation.

Qualifications/Skills & Experience

  • At least FIVE years of experience in construction and supervisory roles.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding design plans, blueprints, and instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence, and effectively presenting information in both individual and small group settings.
  • Ability to operate handheld devices and utilize business systems or document management software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, governmental agency guidelines, and company directives related to building operations and safety practices. Perform daily repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance as assigned.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of and consistently comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety protocols.
  • Demonstrate computer and technology proficiency.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team or work independently.

Travel Expectations

  • Travel and extended on-site stays are REQUIRED.
  • Candidates must be willing and available for out-of-town assignments, including overnight stays for extended periods.
  • A valid Driver's License is mandatory.
