*This position involves travel to various project locations for extended durations

Overview: This role necessitates a willingness to travel to multiple job sites for prolonged periods. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret design plans and blueprints, supervise subcontractors, and perform hands-on tasks including painting, carpentry, minor plumbing, minor electrical work, drywall installation, and other repair skills essential for the successful completion of construction projects. This position requires travel to different locations for significant timeframes.

We are in search of a highly experienced, hands-on traveling construction superintendent to fulfill this vital role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct minor plumbing tasks (e.g., replacing sinks, faucets, toilets, and fixtures as necessary).
  • Oversee subcontractors and manage project sites effectively.
  • Execute routine painting and carpentry tasks.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs (e.g., fixing or replacing fixtures, switches, and outlets; changing light bulbs, ballasts, and sockets as needed).
  • Utilize technology (tablet, smartphone) to: Access and complete work orders, including notes on services rendered.
  • Generate and submit Service Reports and Quality Inspection images and documentation.

Qualifications/Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of five years of experience in construction and supervisory roles.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding design plans, blueprints, and instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective in presenting information in both individual and small group settings.
  • Ability to operate handheld devices and business systems or document management software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, and company directives related to building operations and safety. Perform assigned daily repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of and consistently comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and company safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated computer and technology proficiency.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team or work independently.

Travel Expectations

  • Travel and extended on-site stays are mandatory.
  • Candidates must be willing and available for out-of-town assignments with overnight stays for extended periods.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
