Our Manitowoc facility specializes in delivering innovative solutions for automotive clients, including flexible sound barriers and non-carpet flooring sheets. Additionally, we produce color concentrate pellets utilized in various industries, including construction and energy, for sound control applications.

We are seeking dedicated Production Operators to enhance our production team and support our diverse customer base. Job Overview:

This advanced-level role within our manufacturing sector focuses on material handling, including forklift operation, weighing, and packaging tasks. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality products at competitive costs while adhering to customer specifications and company policies. As part of your responsibilities, you will also progress through our operator training program, which includes extrusion production line and automated material handling operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize safe work practices and maintain a secure work environment.
  • Assist operators with unloading and changeovers.
  • Inspect finished products for quality assurance and report any discrepancies.
  • Read and comprehend shop orders effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with operators and shift leads.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks on equipment and within the facility.
  • Stage necessary materials for production.
  • Accurately manage inventory movements within the management information system.
  • Handle packaging and weighing of materials as required.
  • Document downtime and reasons accurately.
  • Operate forklifts and perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Fulfill overtime requirements and maintain a full work schedule.
  • Conduct quality testing and ensure proper documentation and labeling.
  • Prepare cores and cardboard as specified in work orders.
  • Follow additional instructions from operators.
  • Demonstrate competency in various plant operator roles.

Additional Duties:

  • May involve training new employees.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives.

Other responsibilities may be assigned as necessary to support business operations.

Performance Metrics:

  • Safe and efficient handling of raw materials and by-products.
  • Assist operators in all required tasks.
  • Accurate and timely documentation.
  • Efficient completion of tasks in an organized manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the manufacturing area.
  • Achieve certification as a forklift operator.
  • Ensure a safe working environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to fellow team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong math and reading skills are essential.
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and promptly.

Mental Requirements:

  • Good hand-eye coordination and vision are necessary.
  • Must be a proactive team player.
  • Awareness of safety considerations in manufacturing operations is crucial.
