POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Production Engineering Specialist at KI, you will be responsible for strategizing, executing, and managing various engineering initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency while minimizing costs, waste, and delays.

This role involves assessing, developing, and proposing enhancements to manufacturing machinery, facility layouts, and material handling systems. Additionally, you will oversee the production processes for both standard and custom products.

Key Responsibilities:

Project & Product Management: Engage in ongoing process optimization efforts, aiming to lower material and labor expenses. Assess both new and existing operational processes and machinery. Collaborate on Global Sourcing initiatives for product enhancements, cost reductions, and supplier modifications. Organize and execute continuous improvement projects to boost key performance metrics (such as contribution margins, on-time delivery, quality costs, incident rates, net efficiency, and safety standards).

Product Development: Design and refine manufacturing workflows and machinery to accommodate new or altered products. Supervise and assist in the creation of custom products.

Technical Support: Partner with sales teams to address field installation or quality concerns. Provide support for standard and custom product inquiries.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a fabrication or assembly manufacturing setting. Familiarity with BPCS or MRPII manufacturing systems is essential, as is experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and BPCS is necessary, along with the ability to perform accurate cost analyses. Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles is crucial. KI is committed to equal opportunity employment.
