Position Summary

At TravelCenters of America, we strive to deliver a seamless shopping experience for our customers. Our stores are stocked with a diverse range of name-brand products, including Grab 'N Go foods, groceries, snacks, electronics, maintenance supplies, and more. The Cashier Supervisor is an integral part of the store team, primarily tasked with ensuring exceptional customer service, aiming to send every traveler back on the road better than before.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive and enjoyable work environment centered on outstanding customer service.
  • Serve customers promptly and courteously, maintaining a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor.
  • Manage customer transactions efficiently using a point-of-sale (POS) system; ensure the food and beverage area is clean and well-stocked.
  • Oversee product ordering, receiving, and unloading; organize and rotate merchandise according to planograms.
  • Conduct cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Perform end-of-day reporting, register audits, and safe counts.
  • Assist in creating and managing the team's work schedule.
  • Train junior cashiers on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Prioritize tasks based on store and management needs.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions.
  • Build strong communication and relationships with team members and leadership.
  • Execute other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A committed individual who collaborates well with others and is eager to contribute to the team.
  • Preferred: 4+ years of cashier experience.
  • Required: Proficiency in computer/POS systems.
  • Required: Strong cash handling skills.
  • Preferred: Experience with register audits and safe counting.
  • Required: Background in merchandising and stocking.
  • Good verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
