Department:
Serology/Immunohematology

The work schedule for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday (2:00 am - 10:30 am), with occasional Sundays.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established guidelines.
2. Execute routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
3. Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
4. Exhibit the capability to make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
5. Prepare, evaluate, and test new reagents or controls.
6. Report precise and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
7. Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control measures.
8. Identify and restock testing bench supplies as needed.
9. Assist with the processing of microbiological specimens when required.
10. Maintain a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.

- Florida State Medical Technologist (MT) certification and ASCP, AMT, or ABB certification (must also pass a standardized color vision screening).

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, coupled with excellent communication and organizational skills.
