Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessments under direct supervision or established procedures
  • Utilize testing equipment to perform concrete laboratory tests, such as Concrete Compressive Strength Testing, Shrinkage Testing, and Mortar and Grout Testing, while providing data assessments through reporting
  • Employ testing equipment for soils laboratory tests, including Standard & Modified Proctor Testing, Sieve Analysis, Atterberg Limits, Moisture Content, and Specific Gravity Testing, with subsequent data reporting
  • Maintain thorough documentation and records of test results
  • Utilize a calculator for mathematical calculations of test outcomes
  • Effectively communicate with clients and project teams
  • Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications for Success:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in laboratory construction materials testing is mandatory
  • ACI Concrete Strength Certification is preferred
  • ACI Aggregate/Soils Base Testing Certification is preferred
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal abilities are essential
  • External certifications relevant to the region and state may be required
  • Basic math, calculator, and computer proficiency are necessary
  • Ability to read and comprehend work plans
  • Willingness to work off-shift and overtime as required
  • A valid Driver's License and a reliable driving record are required
Physical Demands:
  • Capability to lift, move, push, and pull weights ranging from 30 to 50 pounds frequently, and occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discern sounds
  • Occasional kneeling and squatting
  • Capacity to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Occasional climbing may be required
