Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring consistency and timely agency action regarding domestic and municipal wastewater related discharge permits issued pursuant to New Mexico's Ground and Surface Water Protection regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise 3 to 4 technical staff
  • Provide technical expertise in domestic and municipal wastewater treatment and operations
  • Evaluate groundwater hydrology and pertinent regulatory work
  • Manage a limited caseload of permits
  • Improve program effectiveness through positive personnel management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related Water Resources discipline
  • 6 years of relevant experience
  • Valid New Mexico Driver's License
  • Defensive Driving Course certificate
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Infrequent travel is required as well as some exposure to seasonal weather conditions in the field and potential exposure to hazardous and/or radioactive waste.
