Position Overview

The Supply Chain Distribution Specialist is responsible for managing the physical inventory of various supply zones, including patient care and ancillary spaces. This role involves utilizing the Material Management System to accurately input data and generate necessary pick tickets. The technician will ensure the precise selection of items as indicated on the pick tickets and oversee the delivery and stocking of materials across different supply locations.

The technician will rotate stock in accordance with established protocols, ensuring that items are managed on a first-in/first-out basis for those without expiration dates, and on an earliest expiration date first-out basis for items that do have expiration dates. Regular interactions with both internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, patients, and vendors, are a key aspect of this role.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year of recent experience (within the last 5 years) in a Supply Chain setting, utilizing a computerized Materials Management Information System.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Completion of coursework or training in inventory and supply distribution management.
  • Forklift certification upon hire.
  • Experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with material handling equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks.
