Job Summary

Volt is seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer/Project Manager to join our team in Denver, CO. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and managing fire sprinkler systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and prepare complex layouts of fire sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems using CAD equipment.
  • Prepare detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams to ensure efficient field installation.
  • Ensure drawings include all necessary views and dimensions.
  • Prepare submittals and obtain permits.
  • Make high-level decisions, review questions from junior designers, and refer complex issues to lead designers and management.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and fire sprinkler design software.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic calculations, stock listing, project design, and project management.
  • Practical experience designing Wet, Dry, Deluge, and Pre Action Sprinkler Systems.
  • Special Hazards design experience a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with general construction practices and terms.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 13, 13D, 13R, 14, 20, 25, and associated Codes/Standards.
Project Management Responsibilities
  • Purchase materials, buy out subcontracts, generate RFIs, and prepare project schedules.
  • Communicate with field personnel, AHJs, customers, sales reps, and field superintendents.
  • Retain full project responsibility for approvals, material procurement, coordination, schedule, and design budgets.
  • Attend all project-related meetings.
Education and Certifications
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • NICET III (min), NICET IV or PE (preferred).
Salary and Benefits

$83,200.00-$104,000.00 per year. Benefits will be provided by the employer.
