Culinary Preparation Specialist

As a Culinary Preparation Specialist, you will play a vital role in our kitchen operations, ensuring that our food preparation meets the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesYour primary duties will include:
- Preparing a diverse range of meats, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking using various kitchen equipment such as grills and fryers.
- Consistently adhering to our established portion sizes, cooking techniques, quality benchmarks, and kitchen policies.
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic workstation, including tables, shelves, grills, fryers, and refrigeration units.
- Stocking the cooking line with necessary items to ensure timely order completion.
- Utilizing the FIFO (First In, First Out) method for food storage and rotation.
- Promptly notifying the Kitchen Manager of any product shortages or equipment malfunctions.
- Following standard recipe cards for all food preparations to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assisting cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as required.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of one year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking is preferred.
- A valid California Food Handlers card, as required for all foodservice personnel involved in food preparation, storage, and service.
- A flexible schedule with the ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- The ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding weights, measurements, volume, and cooking techniques.
- The capability to read and comprehend recipes, safety documents, and other job-related materials.
While performing the duties of this position, you will be required to:
- Engage in regular communication with team members.
- Stand and walk for the duration of your shift.
- Utilize hands and arms for reaching, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
- Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds.
This role involves exposure to kitchen equipment, raw ingredients, airborne particles, and varying temperatures, with a moderate to loud noise level in the work environment.
