Job Summary

The Department of Corrections is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Correctional Officers. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security, custody, control, and treatment of individuals in our care. Responsibilities

As a Correctional Officer, you will be responsible for:
  • Ensuring the safety and security of individuals in our care
  • Providing custody and control of individuals in our facilities
  • Implementing evidence-based approaches to rehabilitation and reentry
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals to achieve positive outcomes
  • Providing excellent customer service to individuals, families, and communities

Requirements

To be successful as a Correctional Officer, you will need to:
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Have no felony convictions without a pardon
  • Have no domestic violence convictions
  • Be willing to work overtime
  • Meet firearm standards
  • Have effective communication skills
  • Be able to problem solve and resolve conflict
