Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Operations Supervisor to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of non-physician staff, ensuring a high level of productivity and efficiency in our medical group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of non-physician staff, including reception and scheduling, patient service areas, accounting, medical records, transcription, and business information systems.
  • Establish and maintain effective policies and procedures for each area, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Schedule non-physician staff to ensure optimal deployment and utilization of resources.
  • Function as a liaison between non-physician staff and physicians to ensure effective service delivery and patient satisfaction.
  • Oversee the day-to-day processing of accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices.
  • Perform human resources responsibilities, including coaching, performance reviews, and staff morale.
  • Recommend hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration or related field.
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in a similar medical practice setting, with a thorough knowledge of physician billing, accounting, and general medical office procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including problem-solving, decision-making, prioritization, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to successfully and positively interact with physicians and employees at all levels throughout the organization and the public.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including experience in using computer applications in a medical practice setting.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit, walk, and stand throughout each day. The work environment is a normal office setting, with occasional exposure to a variety of office equipment and technology.
