Job Summary

The Obstetric Sonographer at Johns Hopkins Medicine operates all ultrasound equipment in the Departments of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Labor and Delivery to perform diagnostic exams according to physician orders. Responsibilities include performing all ultrasound procedures according to department procedures and established protocols. This includes fetal exams such as 1st trimester ultrasound exams, nuchal translucency measurements, 2nd trimester detailed anatomic surveys, 3rd trimester ultrasound exams, full and limited fetal echocardiography, maternal and fetal Doppler, and biophysical profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all ultrasound procedures according to department procedures and established protocols.
  • Assist perinatologists in performing invasive procedures.
  • Perform portable examinations requiring movement of ultrasound equipment to various locations.
  • Monitor and observe any abnormal changes in patients' color, respiration, heart rate, and responsiveness.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an approved curriculum in diagnostic ultrasound. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Registration (or Registry-eligible) by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in OB/GYN.
  • Current CPR Certification is required.

Benefits:

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, day shift, no weekends.
  • Salary range: $36.47 - $60.17 per hour, commensurate with equity and experience.
