Job Summary

The GW Medical Faculty Associates seeks a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our OB/GYN department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing high-quality obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate ultrasound equipment, positioning patients appropriately for examinations and procedures.
  • Perform a range of ultrasound examinations, including gynecologic and obstetric procedures, with or without physician guidance.
  • Generate reports on examinations and procedures, ensuring timely submission to referring physicians.
  • Process and label samples for laboratory submission, as required.
  • Collaborate with students and residents, providing training and guidance on sonography techniques and procedures.
  • Perform decontamination on equipment, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
  • Current and valid certification in Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) and American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.

Working Conditions

  • Regularly exposed to healthcare settings, requiring personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and reach above the shoulder frequently in a clinical setting.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying or pushing and pulling up to 100 lbs.
