Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care through the use of ultrasound technology. This is an on-call position, requiring flexibility and a commitment to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct ultrasound examinations of patients, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Select and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Process and review images, identifying any abnormalities and preparing reports for radiologists.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to conduct invasive procedures, utilizing ultrasound technology to assist with patient care.
  • Maintain equipment, examination rooms, and inventory of related supplies, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Prepare patient information files, documenting relevant details and submitting reports as required.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by management.

Requirements:
  • Minimum one year of full-time experience as a sonographer, with current KP Coalition employees having this requirement waived.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Completion of an ARDMS accredited or equivalent program in ultrasound technology required.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Abdomen.
  • Basic Life Support certification.

Additional Considerations:
  • Non-Registered Sonographers may be considered, provided they meet experience, education, and training requirements, and pass abdomen and/or OB/GYN Registry within one year of employment.
